Grade Three Literacy Workshop
Welcome to our online Grade Three constructivist based workshop that promotes literacy. This workshop could be used as homework, extra practice during holiday breaks and/or for summer instruction.
The class will first read “The Lion King” by Don Ferguson.
The Lion King takes place in Africa and centers around Simba a lion prince who is at odds with his Uncle Scar, the second in line to the throne. Scar plots to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba to make himself King. King Mufasa is killed and Simba is led to believe by Scar that the death was his fault. Simba flees the Kingdom in shame while Scar rules the land. The story gives a glimps at the ‘circle of life’ and family relationships.
